Tessa Smith and Madison House to Headline Next WED's Passive House Happy Hour (May 6)
Tessa Smith, co-founder of Artisans Group, is a trailblazer of Passive House practice in the Pacific Northwest. Winner of numerous design and Passive House accolades, including PHIUS’ Best Project by a Young Professional Under 35 awards for both 2017 and 2018, Tessa combines her inimitable style with formidable building science chops to deliver beautiful high performance buildings, oftentimes on tight budgets. She’s a mainstay at Passive House conferences thanks to her wit and insights, so we’re excited to have her join us next week for the May 6 (May 7 on the other side of the date line) Global Passive House Happy Hour.

Tessa will present about Madison House, recently featured in Sheri Koones’ book, “Downsize.” She’ll share small Passive House design moves, construction lessons learned, and some slick architectural Passive House detailing. Please join us! REGISTER HERE.
Please Note: Our Global Passive House Happy Hour is reverting to its ORIGINAL TIMESLOT (4pm Pacific, 7pm Eastern, 12 midnight London). We know this is tough for our friends in Europe, and hope to create programming that is more reasonable for the CEST timezone soon!

This week's Global Passive House Happy Hour will feature the incomparable Tomás O'Leary. Wed Apr 29.
Getting Down and Dirty!
Tomás O’Leary of Passive House Academy and MosArt Architects is no stuck-in-the-mud when it comes to delivering high performance buildings. He is currently working on a 600-unit public housing scheme in Dun Laoghaire, southside of Dublin, which will be the largest Passive House project in the country. It goes to tender later this year, and right now construction details are being developed to optimize energy performance and comfort.
Tomás will take us through a quick tour of the iterative design of construction details for the floor to wall junction, including the good, the bad and the downright ugly. There’s a strong and positive dynamic emerging between the architects, structural engineers and Passive House consultants, crucial to the delivery of a successful project.
Egos are left at the door as we forge ahead in the transition to high performance buildings.

This Wednesday's Happy Hour will feature "Front Flats", plus a special guest.

Welcome to Passive House Accelerator's community platform!
This is a non-denominational space to ask questions and share solutions for creating a healthy, zero carbon built environment.
We have some simple ground rules:
- Be nice.
- Do share your expertise, innovations, and lessons learned.
- Do share educational resources.
- Don’t promote yourself, or one certification over another.
Thank you for being here! I'm looking forward to your questions, your answers, and your insights.
